New Single “mario kart” with Travis Barker

New EP drinking under the streetlights Available Now

(June 17, 2021) – Hot on the heels of his latest EP release and winning Best New Alt/Rock Artist at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, lo-fi hit-maker Powfu has launched the official video for “mario kart” featuring Travis Barker. Directed by AZE, the trippy video follows Powfu from a 50s diner into the video game itself, riding on his own colorful and digitized track with pop-ups from Travis along the way. The song is featured on Powfu’s new five song EP drinking under the streetlights, which is available now. Powfu first teased the video earlier this week while paying homage to Travis in the blink182 “First Date” video. The two of them first collaborated on the remix for Powfu’s global hit song “death bed (coffee for your head).”

 

drinking under the streetlights serves as the follow up to his November 2020 EP, some boring love stories pt. 5, and his May 2020 EP, poems of the past, which The New York Times named to their Best Albums of 2020. Each new release showcases Powfu’s evolving sonic palate and stays true to the signature relatable storytelling of his lyrics. His massive double Platinum hit song “death bed (coffee for your head)” (3x Platinum in his home country of Canada) continues to stream around the world with over 2 Billion streams to date. The addictive song blasted Powfu to the forefront of the music scene last year, positioning him as one of the pioneers bringing the lo-fi genre to the mainstream.
