HIGHLY ANTICIPATED SELF-TITLED ALBUM LEON COMING OCTOBER 4
FORT WORTH, TX (September 27, 2024) – Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning Texas recording artist, songwriter, and performer Leon Bridges releases his new track, “That’s What I Love.” Listen HERE. Leon premiered the song earlier this week with a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon alongside The Roots. Watch HERE. Taken from his forthcoming self-titled LP coming October 4, Leon, the track blends honeyed vocals and effortless swag to celebrate everything Leon loves.
Says Leon about “That’s What I Love,” “This track is a special one for me—it’s a reflection of my journey, the places I’ve been, and the things that truly bring me joy. It’s about celebrating the little things that make us who we are. It’s a tribute to the warmth of family, the charm of Texas, and the nostalgia that ties us all together.”
Leon, set to be released on October 4 via Columbia Records, is available to pre-order and pre-save now HERE. The album release will follow today’s release of “That’s What I Love” as well as the first single “Peaceful Place” and fan track “Laredo.” Recorded and produced by Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Maggie Rogers) at El Desierto on the outskirts of Mexico City with co-production from Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves) in Nashville, Leon features 13 handcrafted tracks spotlighting Leon’s signature storytelling and organic genre alchemy. Leon unfolds as his most poignant, powerful, and personal body of work to date as the man himself takes you through the streets he knows best, the things he holds dearest, and the memories of the people and place that shaped him. Six years in the making, this record is unmistakably Leon. Check out the full tracklisting below.
Bookended appropriately with Texas dates, Leon is set to launch Leon Bridges: The Leon Tour next month, which kicks off with a few special Texas shows in less traveled markets. The tour will then make stops in cities across North America such as Chicago, Toronto, New York, Nashville and more before wrapping with a special SOLD OUT homecoming show at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Leon’s biggest headline show to date. Leon is excited to share that $1 from every ticket sold will go directly to his charity, The Big Good. Hermanos Gutiérrez will support Leon on all dates, with Charley Crockett serving as direct support in Fort Worth. All shows are on sale now with many shows already sold out. ABOUT LEON BRIDGES:
As a powerhouse artist, dyed-in-the-wool troubadour, and electrifying performer, GRAMMY® Award-winning Texas-bred maverick Leon Bridges quietly distinguishes himself as a tried-and-true original. With an old soul and a fresh perspective, he creates the kind of records that remain agnostic of era or genre, yet wholly in tune with the energy and emotion of successive generations. Thus far, he has garnered a GRAMMY® Award, achieved over a dozen platinum and gold certifications, stacked up billions of streams, and entrenched himself at the forefront of culture. He’s the rare talent equally at home performing at the White House for Former President Barack Obama or throwing down on a popular Crossroads collaboration with Luke Combs. As a sought-after collaborator, he has impressively joined forces with everyone from John Mayer and Kacey Musgraves to Lucky Daye, Noah Cyrus, Khruangbin and Carin León. Collaborating so far this year with Gunna on “clear my rain,” contributing to the Twister soundtrack with “Chrome Cowgirl,” and even joining Kacey Musgraves on “Superbloom” for the extended edition of her album Deeper Well, Leon continues to position himself as musical chameleon that can bend any genre to fit into his boundless sonic universe. Now returning to the stories that made him on his fourth full-length album, Leon, he introduces his next era, elevating his artistry and vision to new heights once again.
