Friday, October 15th, 2021 – Wishes Vol. 2, Famba’s highly anticipated second EP, is out today via Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc. Five years after bursting onto the scene, the Canadian DJ and producer keeps on evolving and honing his voice. Listen to Wishes Vol. 2 on all digital platforms HERE.

The EP includes the brand-new single “Break My Heart,” featuring rising R&B star 12AM. The addictive track blends classic house style with energetic, club-thumping, 90s-influenced beats, and 12AM’s signature R&B style and seductive vocals.

“Heard the song, loved the vibe. Never done something like that before but it came out fire,” said 12AM, reflecting on the process.

“Break My Heart” follows the radio charting hits “Still Call You Mine,” “Games We Play” ft. Brando and MKLA, and “Way Back Home” ft. Kyra Mastro, all featured on this new EP. “Games We Play” peaked at #31 on Canada’s Top 40 radio, with over 1 million worldwide streams. Lately, Famba’s tracks were featured in prominent playlists Spotify Hot Hits Canada, Apple Music Songs of The Summer, and Amazon Music Fresh Dance.

Wishes Vol. 2 is a culmination of influences and inspirations that flows in a cohesive and satisfying sonic narrative. It features catchy songs with plenty of singalong moments and ecstatic, hand-in-the-air melodies, tempered with a bassy heaviness that feels dark and rich.

This release is a big sonic shift from Famba’s past work. “I’m really happy with how it all came together. I came into this project wanting a change, coming back to my roots in dance music and staying there. I want to break the mold in the DJ world and be known as a songwriter as well as a producer. I think it’s so important to have a voice, be a part of the entire process of crafting a song”.

Famba co-crafted almost all of the lyrics on the EP. “Songwriting is such an important part of my life. It allows me to create worlds and tell stories [from] my past and present. With Wishes Vol. 2, I wanted to focus on songwriting first and make sure the songs were personal to me.”

This second offering from his Wishes series shows off Famba’s chops as one of the catchiest dance-pop producers on the scene. While Wishes Vol. 1 (2020) captured the hopeful spirit of Famba’s early days, Wishes Vol. 2 reveals the true Famba universe: the perfect blend of classic, club-forward grooves and a wickedly smart pop sensibility. He’s already exhibited his skills. Now it’s time to show off his craft. Famba was born for this.
