CHARLIE HOUSTON TO OPEN FOR MORE THAN A DOZEN DATES
Globally acclaimed singer/songwriter Charlotte Cardin caps off a breakout year by selling-out her first headlining Canadian tour. With the addition today of a second night at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto on March 12th, the run stretches to thirty shows coast to coast, including two nights at the Southam Hall in Ottawa, eight nights at Impérial Bell, in Quebec City and thirteen nights at MTELUS, in Montreal. The artist is also releasing new tickets for The Gateway in Calgary and London Music Hall, in London. This domestic success is reflected worldwide with sold-out shows across key markets, in New York, Los Angeles and Paris. It’s an impressive feat in a post-covid reality where rooms are harder than ever to fill.
Released last April, Cardin’s debut album Phoenix made her the first Canadian female artist to spend multiple weeks at #1 on Canadian top Billboard, since Céline Dion in September 2016. Having already sold more than 75k units in Canada alone, the album was certified gold along with stand-out singles “Passive Aggressive“ , “ Meaningless“ and “Anyone Who Loves Me“. It was also long-listed for the coveted Polaris Music Prize. Across Canada, the record has amassed over 66 million audio streams and its national success shows no signs of slowing down, with the recent release of Phoenix Deluxe. The reedition features six brand new tracks, and key collaborators, producers Stint (Demi Lovato, Kesha), Johnny Goldstein (Black Eyed Peas, Major Lazer) and french rapper Dinos.
Following the success of her Big Boy EP across Canada, Charlotte Cardin made waves worldwide with her major label and US debut Main Girl EP in 2017 and has amassed over 272 million combined global career streams. Featuring the standout title track and breakthrough “Dirty Dirty,” Main Girl quickly gained critical acclaim from the likes of The FADER, Harper’s BAZAAR, Interview, NYLON, PAPER, W Magazine & more. The release simultaneously sparked a whirlwind two-year journey around the globe that saw Cardin support the likes of Nick Murphy and BØRNS, in addition to selling out headline shows on multiple continents and gracing the stages of festivals such as Bonnaroo, Osheaga & Festival d’Été de Québec (as a special guest of Sting and Peter Gabriel).
